Thriving Away Collective/Thriving Away (“we,” “us,” “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights, in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

1. What We Collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Contact details (name, email, phone number) when you join our community, book an event, or sign up for updates
  • Payment information when you make a purchase (processed securely by our payment provider — we don’t store full card details ourselves)
  • Information you share with us directly, e.g. through a self-check-in form, WhatsApp, or event registration
  • Website usage data (via cookies/analytics — see Section 5)

2. How We Use It

We use your information to:

  • Deliver the products, events, or experiences you’ve booked or purchased
  • Send updates, event invitations, and community communications (you can opt out anytime)
  • Improve our offerings and website
  • Meet legal and accounting obligations

We do not use anything you share with us including responses to self-check-in tools to make any clinical, diagnostic, or health-related assessment about you. These tools are for personal reflection only, and any responses stay just that: personal reflection, not a record we interpret or act on clinically.

3. Third-Party Tools We Use

We work with trusted third-party providers to run our business, including:

  • [Stripe] for payment processing
  • [Humanitix] for event ticketing
  • [Systeme.io / email platform] for email communications
  • WhatsApp for community updates (only for those who opt in)

Each of these providers has its own privacy practices governing the data they process on our behalf.

4. Data Storage & Retention

We keep your information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law (e.g. financial records). We take reasonable steps to keep your data secure, but no online system is 100% secure.

5. Cookies

Our website may use cookies to understand how visitors use the site and to improve your experience. You can disable cookies in your browser settings.

6. Your Rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct it if it’s wrong
  • Ask us to delete it, where reasonably possible
  • Withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time

To make a request, email [thrivedaway@gmail.com]. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can also contact the NZ Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. The “last updated” date at the top will reflect the most recent version.
